HERE IT IS, MY FIRST BLOG GIVE AWAY!

January 21, 2009

Well, I thought I'd have my blog giveaway posted a few days ago but ended up commissioning doodlebug designs for a new blog look and decided to wait until that was finished. As you see, it is all done and I love it! I hope you like it too.

To celebrate all this newness I will now post my FIRST BLOG GIVE AWAY! A while back I was reading the blog of the Natural Nester and I really liked that several of her posts were dedicated to sharing what she was grateful for. Each time I read her posts I would be reminded how important it is to open my eyes and see the silver lining. Sometimes we get caught up in the little "crazy" things we are going through and forget to take a breather and be grateful for what we have in our lives.

Wednesday, I visited a friend who has cancer. His prognosis is good but right now he is in a lot of pain. This is someone I've known nearly all my life. He has been a life saver for our family on many occasions. He is the guy who gives gives gives and never asks for anything in return. I really admire him for the fact he always sees the good in people no matter who they are or what they've done.

When I saw my friend it made me think about how lucky I am. The first thing that came to mind, of course, are my children. So I've decided to blog every Monday over the next two months about why I'm grateful for my children and for my blog giveaway my only request from my blog readers is to post about a person or persons you are grateful for and why. A week from today I will put together the lists of posters and draw a name for the winner of my first blog giveaway.

Here ya go:

Sorry for my poor photograph... still working on those picture taking skills.

(kukui nut oil, handmade pikake soap with matching scented candle, lip balm with wooden magnet turtle).

Hi Michelle, what a great idea. I am grateful for my family. My husband is my best friend and my children have brought me such joy. They make each day brighter. My oldest daughter now lives away from home in another state and I miss her very much. I am grateful that even though she lives in another state we keep in touch daily and visit often.

I'm grateful for my mom. She's always there for me and she never judges me. I don't know what I'd do without her!

I love your new loook, Micheele!
Wow . . . one person . . . ? Can't do it. LOL. I have too many wonderful and amazing people in my life; family first - hubby, kids, parents, grands. So many of my friends mean the world to me and a lot of them are online. ;)

Hi Michelle: Like the look of your new blog. I'm grateful for my husband Peter, who has such patience with me when I'm "not up to going out with friends or doing things" from the fatique of Lupus, and also that he can cook, and willingly so! Also grateful for all my friends, both in person and on-line.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and his cancer battle! I will keep him in my thoughts.

I have so many people I am truly grateful for in my life that I don't know where to start. My parents - for obvious reasons; my sister - for being my best friend unconditionally; my husband - for his continual support and love and cooking! and also being my best friend; my kids - for being their goofy selves; my friends, online and off - whose love and friendship I cherish.

Wonderful giveaway and wonderful reminder, Michelle! Hugs!

Michelle I love your new blog look! And I love the new Soap Pixie!

I'm grateful for my family, hubby and kids, and the grands. But lately I'm really grateful to a group of cyber-friends that have hung in there for me. Sometimes you just need someone to vent at or to!

Michelle, everything looks great! I love the font that your 'signature' is in at the end of each post. Ooooh, and kukui oil! Something I've always wanted to try. I am so very, very grateful for my husband. I'm able to do everything I love - homey things, soap, and working with kids, and he totally enables me in every way imaginable. Primarily by looking after our son, and he does a stellar job. :) And he's very handsome, (and talented!) too.

I love the new design and the new weekly way to give thanks. I am especially thankful for my family right now (husband, mom, dad, sister, brother) because I recently underwent surgery and they were right there through it all. Made me realize how lucky I am. I know its more than one person but I had to include them all!

I love the new look! Very nice =)

I'd have to say my husband as well. There's no way I could raise 4 kids on my own! He's my best friend and my favorite person to be with.
