REIKI

For many years I wanted to become a trained Reiki healer and today I finished getting Attunement I. It was a powerful experience. My instructor was Beth Hanson, she is an amazing artist and a very kind individual. Just being around her is relaxing. There were 2 others in our group, Susan & Casey. It was comfortable being with everyone, the energy was very positive and it was nice to be around people who are very well read and educated in the esoteric practices as well as modern medicine. We had some very interesting conversations. My Attunement II will be in a couple months, in the meantime I have the joy of doing healings on my friends and family (and my pets). I must say... I'm feeling EXCELLENT right now!

PHOTO TAG

Teresa at HOMESTEAD NOTES is doing a "photo tag" and the rules are:

1. Go to the 4th picture folder on your computer.
2. Post the 4th picture in that folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 more bloggers

I don't have many pictures on my desktop computer. Once they are printed up I usually delete them (probably shouldn't be doing that but...). Here is the 4th picture in the 4th folder.

Discovering Gum is what I call this photo. She had never seen a bubble blown before and she has this thing about wanting to lick things. She is less than a year in the pic above I believe and yet she still licks everything and she's two.

This post will include why I'm grateful for my daughters. I'm grateful for moments like the one in this picture. I don't think I need to say anything more than that.

A LITTLE LOTION GOES A LONG WAY

My friend Donna wanted to try her hands at some lotion so she came over on Friday and we whipped up a few recipes.

Here's Donna hard at work with her recipe for a facial cream. It turned out perfect, just the way she wanted. I believe she used rosehip oil in this recipe.

Afterwards I whipped up some lotion for the family. My skin has been horribly dry and I ran out of my favorite cream from Joanna so I needed something to hold me over until I can order some again. It turned out wonderful and fluffy. Of course, I used kukui nut oil in this recipe:

TERESA SENT SOME FANTASTIC SOAPS OUR WAY

And the kids love em! We laid them out and the kids got to pick the ones they wanted (but they had to be equal, each getting a lego and a puzzle piece). Baby still thinks soap is for eating but we corrected her on that one (she'll get it someday).

Thank you Teresa (from Life, Homesteading & Everything) for the cute soaps! They are really fun. I think Maya is trying to preserve hers cuz she refuses to use them and instead is keeping them on a shelf in her room.

First words out of Middy's mouth:
These are so cool, who gets to pick first?

WHY I'M GRATEFUL FOR MY CHILDREN: WEEK 2

It use to be that the best part of waking up was sunshine and the beginning of a new day, now the best part is seeing the bright eyes of my littlest girl Aiyana or hearing the chatter of our two older girls in the next room. Not only am I allowed to live yet another day but I get to live my days with 3beautiful children. I can't remember what life was like before they were here and I never want to. Even when they argue over who gets to use the bathroom first in the morning to prep for school, I manage to find it enjoyable. I often think, if I didn't have kids to battle with life would be so dull. I'm not going to say that loud enough for them to hear me though. LOL! I love when:

the girls say "hi mom" in the morning
when Middy kisses me and says I love you 3,4,5x's before leaving for school
when Aiyana refuses to get out of bed unless I get up to.
when Maya needs a random hug.
when they want to sleep on the floor of my room just to be close to us.

My mornings are beautiful, I love it all!
